CSF at WHS must be financially self-supporting. Thus, in addition to the application and grade record, students are asked to contribute $5.00 each semester to help with expenses associated with the club.
Any student who indicates they cannot pay may still join CSF. Additionally, students are not asked to explain or verify their inability to pay. |
The expenses the club incurs include the annual fee to the state CSF organization ($100.00), and the mandated purchase of seals ($8.50) and pins ($7) for all Sealbearers. At WHS, we also award active Sealbearers a gold honor cord ($9). Some funds are held in reserve to attend regional meetings, particularly in case a WHS Seymour scholarship nominee is selected as a finalist. Depending on the regional host site, an overnight stay may be warranted. Finally, funds are also used to provide a treat ($50) at our chapter meetings.
